She became a travel writer and international sales representative for the Florida Division of Tourism opening Florida's first international sales office in London U.K. in 1982. Dot loved London and returned often to visit friends and family in England and Ireland.

Upon retiring to Destin, Fl., she worked as a columnist for the Beach Breeze newspaper covering social and cultural events for the Emerald Coast. An avid supporter of the Arts, she encouraged many around her to volunteer and get involved in local events.
