Barbara J. Bozeman, 78, a Humanitarian, a retired Substance Abuse Counselor for Apalachee Mental Health Center, Author of "From Despair to Victory" and former Executive Director of Great Recoveries Inc. passed on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.She was born and reared in Tallahassee, FL, graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Social Work, and served as a substance abuse counselor for more than 40 years in Tallahassee and surrounding areas.
The Wake will commence Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 6pm to 7pm at Strong & Jones Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life services will be held at 2pm, Friday, March 21, 2014 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 615 Tuskegee St., Tallahassee, FL, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
To mourn her passing and cherish her memories are her daughters, Sabrina Bozeman Evelyn Esq. of Atlanta, GA and Valerie D. Bozeman M.A of Jacksonville, FL; one adopted daughter, Shakitaha Burch; two sons, Tdka Kilimanjaro, Ph.D.of North Carolina and Napoleon H. Yant of Orlando, FL.; four granddaughters, Gabrielle Burch-Yant of Miami, FL; Nia Bozeman and Ashanti Bozeman both of Detroit, MI and Alexis Yant of Havana, FL.; adopted granddaughters, Brooke Cantrell of Atlanta, GA and Brianna Waldon of Orlando, FL.; Cousins, Helen Holloway and Lashonda Holloway both of Jacksonville, FL and Martha Reddick of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss Ms. Bozeman
