James "JT" Connell, Jr.

James "JT" Connell, Jr., 90, passed away on March 17, 2014 in Tallahassee, FL. He was born in Waukeenah, FL on October 26, 1923 to Bessie and James Connell, Sr.

JT moved to Tallahassee in 1951 where he plied his skills as a master builder. He worked for many of the old-time contractors around Tallahassee before going out on his own. JT was known as a true craftsman and built many homes throughout Leon County. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, furniture making and growing fruit trees in his garden.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lester Connell, and sister, Betty Martin.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Frances: brothers:Kenneth Connell (Mary) of Waukeenah, FL, Bobby Connell (Pat) of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Annie Lou White, and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Culley's MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel on Wednesday, March 19th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A celebration of his life will be held Graveside at Roselawn Cemetery on Thursday, March 20th at 11:00am.
