Ray M. Harvey

Ray M. Harvey, 80, of the Ft. Braden Community passed away on April 13, 2014, after a battle with cancer. Ray retired from the Leon County School Board in 1987. He and his wife owned and operated Harvey's Grocery in the Ft. Braden Community, 1973-1984.

Ray loved to hunt, fish, garden and most of all spend time with his grand and great grand children. Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jessie Mae Barbree Harvey, one son: Kenneth R. Harvey (Carma), two daughters: Kathleen Harvey Helm (Steve) and Karen R. Harvey, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
One sister: Vergie Anderson and one brother: Melvin Harvey.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Zeddie L. Harvey and Freddie Vause Harvey. Two sisters: Ella Mae Harvey Brown and Ina Kate Harvey Bruton and one brother: W. Orelle Harvey.

Graveside services will be held at Ft. Braden Cemetery on Hwy. 20 West on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 11 AM EST. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308 or TMH Cancer Center, 1775 One Healing Place, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
