Paul Revere Green

Paul Revere Green, of Tallahassee, passed away the morning of May 1, 2014.

Paul was born in Denver, Colorado, son of the late Raymond and Helen Green. His family moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, when he was 13. After high school, Paul attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Paul continued to be involved with his beloved Citadel throughout his life, attending and planning various fundraising events and reunions with his fellow cadets.
Following college, he earned a Master's Degree in Chemistry and later a Master's Degree in Educational Administration at Florida State University. Paul became a passionate Florida State football fan and permanent Tallahassee resident after attending FSU. Paul also served in the Army, reaching the rank of Lieutenant, with a tour of duty during the Vietnam War.

In 1969, Paul began an illustrious career in Education in Leon County, Florida. He taught high school chemistry at Rickards High School before becoming Assistant Principal and later Principal. He was also Assistant Principal of Fairview Middle School and Principal of Cobb Middle School. Paul ended his 37-year career at Fort Braden Elementary and Middle School where he was Principal for 13 years.
He was an effective administrator and mentor to many teachers. Paul cared very much for all of his students, making their success his number one priority—sometimes with unusual tactics, including singing at FCAT pep-rallies and dressing up as a Smurf to reward good test scores.
Paul was a dedicated family man. He was a loving husband to his late wife, Lyndi, and doting father to their two daughters, Darby and Kelly, spending countless hours at their horse shows serving as videographer.
He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Beth and especially enjoyed their frequent visits to Alligator Point. Always the life of the party, he will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Beth Green, daughters Kelly (Derek) Friend and Darby (Kyle) Shaw, and brother John Green, all of Tallahassee; brother-in-law Terry (Pam) Meginniss of Brooklyn, NY; sisters-in-law Trish (Ed) Rouse of Memphis, TN, and Pam (Gary) Roseman of St. Simons Island, GA; nieces Amanda Colbenson of Brooklyn, NY, Emma Mann-Meginniss of San Francisco, CA, Marisa Rouse of Charlotte, NC, and nephew Sam Rouse of Dallas, TX; and was predeceased by Lyndi Green, and his sister, Helen Rae Eaton.
Friends are invited to join the family for a reception in Paul's honor on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Citadel Foundation at 171 Moultrie St., Charleston, SC 29409, or by visiting
