I didn't know Spessard personally, but through his Son Delaney I new he was a great man. The inspiration he put on Delaney was awesome. I feel Delaney's strong outlook on life is an example of Spessard Holland's teachings.

Dearest Cricket and Family,
I cannot even comprehend the grief and sadness that you are all feeling to have such an amazing person taken far too early from you. I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Spessard for the last 10 years or so when he was working on the dream home in Carrabelle. Spessard was one feisty, fun-loving, hardworking, gentle, enlightened spiritual kind of guy that never lacked for something to say?. He will be dearly missed….wishing him tight lines and following seas.
Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Kind Regards,
Debi Williams

Spessard had a gentle spirit with his kind ways He was such a talker. I always enjoyed hearing about how he built his houses. I so enjoyed going to the Carabelle house especially.I know he loved it there and fishing was his passion. He was concerned about Cricket and his mother. We all assured him they would be surrounded with our love. Spessard will be missed with a place in our hearts always.

Spessard was a white-hat kind of guy, always rising to the highest and best for family and friends. When we talked last, he spoke of his love and concern for the love of his life, Cricket (Theresa), and the fact that he regretted so much that you and his mother, Claudia, would have to suffer along with him. He was well aware of his own fate and faced it bravely with his mind made up to make things as easy as possible for you and his mom. Spessard is loved and cherished by all who know him. I hold the Holland Family in my heart at this precious time of Spessard's passing. The beauty of this gentle soul will be missed.
