Kathy and Joe W. first became friends shortly after she and Betsy moved to Brooksville in the early 80's, around the time we moved there, too. They knew each other in early sobriety, and professionally. I met her through Joe and knew they had a special friendship. A few years later, I really got to know her as she became a very important part of my life and my sobriety. Our paths had crossed and I now understood why. She became my AA sponsor and continued to become even more, as a mentor and friend for many years. I feel somewhat lost now without her, but I know she taught me well enough for me to understand the true meaning of physical, spiritual, and emotional sobriety and to now pay it forward. I will always be grateful for her love, strength, leadership, kindness, and wisdom, in both sobriety and as a fellow nurse. Kathy held my hand during my hardest times.
I love and miss her.
See you and Joe on the other side.
I love and thank you Kathy,
Carolee

Kathy was a dedicated nurse and teacher, a devoted mother, and for me, a loving sister. I will miss her wit, strength, and compassion, playing bridge with her, watching the sun set on the Gulf of Mexico, and her lovely smile, which could light up a room.
