SANDS, Richard passed away on Dec. 27, 2013, in Sylvester, GA from complications due to C.O.P.D. He was born July 11, 1940 in Centerburg, OH. Upon graduation from Centerburg High School, he joined the Army serving in Germany for 3 years. He worked for Dayton Power and Light in Dayton, OH before moving to Tampa in 1971. There he retired from TECO. Richard was a resident of Floral City and Seffner and later moved to Sylvester, GA where he resided for 8½ years. Richard is survived by his daughters, Melinda Sands-Acevedo and husband Rafael Acevedo, Pamela Bentley, fiancé David Osterhoudt. He was Papa Richard to grandchildren, Tanner and Sophia Acevedo, Zachary and Brooke Bentley; brother, Donald Sands; and sister, Cheryl Sands. We want to say a special thank you to Southern Care Hospice, Moultrie, GA, for their amazing care. A special thanks to the team members Alicia Cox and Celeste Jackson. Memorial Service to held on, Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 12 noon. Grace Family Church, 5101 Van Dyke Road, Lutz, FL 33558.
