BENSON, Carmen 82, of Tampa, passed away on June 29, 2013, in Tampa. She was born in Venezuela and relocated to Tampa in 1959. She resided at the Palm Ave Baptist Towers ALF, and was of the Assembly of God faith. Carmen was preceded in death by her son, Hector Benson. She is survived by her children, Vilma Perales (Fredy) of Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela, Julie Benson Hames (Randal) of Anchorage, AK, Jose R Benson (Betzaida) of Tampa, Ivan C Benson (Nilda) of Valrico, Roy Benson of Bellingham, WA, and Iris Uchytil (Rod) of Houston, TX; brother, Luis Paez of El Tigre, Venezuela; grandchildren, Angela Slaton (Jason), Carolina Rizales (Moises), Rosanne McGough (Brad), Randi Hames, Brent Benson, Brenda Benson & Ivana Benson; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Gabriel and Gigi Slaton, Braydon and Briston McGough. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, from 10:30-11:30 am at the chapel of MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Ave, Tampa, with a funeral service beginning at 11:30 am.
