Donald DANNER Obituary

DANNER, Donald H. 81, was born September 8, 1931, in Cooke-ville, Tennessee, the son of Sarah Willie and James Elzie Danner. He had two brothers, Billy James and Bobby Franklin Danner, and two sisters, Ruth Evelyn Watson and Ellen Ann Marsh. An ordained minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he served as pastor in three churches for seven years, and then became a dedicated teacher, continuing to touch lives for the next 40. He taught language arts at Disston Junior High and Azalea Middle School in St. Petersburg, where he met his wife, Elizabeth White Danner. In retirement, they spent many happy years "motor-homing." Donald is survived by his sister, Ann Marsh; his sons from previous marriages, Donald Wayne, Scott Wilson, and Kenneth Howard; his stepchil-dren, Randy Bundschu, Patty Brewer, Kathy Kelley, and Rick Bundschu; and his grandchildren, Kim and Natalie Bundschu, Beth Brewer, Jennifer and Megan Kelley, and Vanessa, Nikita, and Ian Bundschu. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The viewing will be held July 7, 2013, from 1-2 pm with a 2 pm service at Seminole United Methodist Church, 5400 Seminole Blvd. For more information and full obit visit: www.mohnfh.com

Memories and Condolences
for Donald DANNER

Not sure what to say?

You are one of the teachers I remember the most from days at Azalea. I remember citing the Gettysburg Address in front of the class for an extra credit assignment. The way you use to have us turn in our test and homework, folded, has stuck with me to this day, 34 years ago. God bless you Mr. Danner for your instilment of discipline and academics.

Uncle Don,

I will miss our talks and all your stories!! What a great hearty laugh you had. We always would needle each other like an uncle and nephew should. Say hey to Aunt Betty for me and take care of yourself in the hereafter. Sadly missed by this end of the family. RIP..

Thinking of all of you with love....especially today. Beneath that poker face he was laughter personified. I will miss my phone pal. I'm glad your mama married him.
Hugs from all of us, Jodie White - Longmont, Co.

Don Danner dated my sister, Dolly, Jackie Francis, for a while. He took me shopping and out to dinner, Anna Maria Island, for my 16th Birthday. To this very day, I still have the jewelry box he bought me and the wonderful memories. We shared the same Birthday in fact, September 8th. We used to play checkers at my Mother's house. Mr Danner let me win every once in awhile. I can still hear his laugh. He had the most glorious loud deep heartfelt laugh. My Mother and my GrandMother, Gargy loved him dearly. He loved my Sister, Dolly, dearly. My son is named Donald. A fine name, indeed. He was a well loved and respected man, a very fine man! Thank you for blessing our Family, Don Danner. We all loved you. You will live on in my heart forever. I have treasured the jewelry box all these years and will continue to treasure it until the day I depart this world. Love Always, Betty (Dolly's little sister)

I had Mr. Danner for 9th grade Language Arts back in 1966 at Disston. I dearly loved Mr. Danner and believe that he was one off the best teachers I had in school. I know he added to my love of reading and probably contributed as to why I became a teacher. May he rest in peace and may the family find peace in the fact that their loved one touched so many lives and was sincerely loved by his students. May God bless and keep his soul safe.
