Edwin Rupert SIMMONS

SIMMONS, Edwin Rupert 84, of Tampa, passed away on May 17, 2014, at home. Edwin was born in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, son to the late Ina Vanterpool and Edwin Rupert Simmons. Edwin graduated from New York University, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for Pan Am-erican in Miami and Cape Kennedy. He moved to Tampa in 1973 and worked for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Hillsb-orough County. Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sue Smith Simmons; his daughter Meagan Simmons, DDS, and her husband, Alex Steger; granddaughter, Grayson Steger; sister, Evelyn Sharp and her husband, Jim; niece, Suzy Bohrman and her husband, Jeff. Family & friends are invited to attend a celebration of Edwin's life at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 24, at the Blount & Curry West Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Dr., Tampa. Burial will be on Tuesday, May 27, at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with military honors. Memorial Donations may be made in Edwin's honor to .
