Jesse James DEAN

DEAN, Jesse James age 77, of Brandon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013. He was born in Ocilla, GA, on April 23, 1936, to the late James Oscar and Elizabeth Dean. Jesse met Barbara Bagley in Vero Beach, and the two were married on Jan. 25, 1955. Jesse's life goal was to model scholastic excellence and achievement for his son, granddaughter, nieces, and nephews. Jesse earned many degrees, culminating with a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Kennedy Western University. Dr. Dean served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1977 and retired as a Tech Sergeant. Due to his outstanding military career, academic achievements, and his commitment to public service, Dr. Dean was invited to give the invocation for the historic Obama Presidential Campaign at Legends Field in Tampa in 2008. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara J. Dean; son, James Alexis Dean, Brandon; daughter-in-law, Belinda Dean; granddaughter, Haley Alexis Dean, Beeton, Ontario; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Nov. 22nd, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Ave. Tampa. A viewing will begin at 10 am and services will follow at 11 am. Interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, will also occur on Friday. Arrangements entrusted to RAY WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Rhodes & Northern, Owners.
