WANOUS, Kay age 93, of Dublin, OH, died peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, just two weeks shy of her 94th birthday. She was born in Cherokee, KS, Jan. 13, 1920, to Italian immigrants, Margaret and Felix Magnetti. She graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in home economics. She married Bud Wanous in 1950, and they lived together in Diablo, CA until relocated to Cincinnati, OH in 1966. For a number of years, they retired in Palm Harbor, and then moved to Columbus, OH to be near their daughter's family. Before marriage, Kay loved her life as a stewardess with United Airlines. She also taught typing and business education. Kay was an avid golfer and achieved Life Master in bridge. She was a volunteer with the Cincinnati Art Museum. Kay enjoyed traveling and saw much of the world with Bud. She took many cruises with her husband, daughter and grandchildren and celebrated 50 years of marriage on a cruise to Alaska. Her only daughter, Deborah Simmons of Longmont, CO, married to son-in-law, Wayne Simmons, CEO of Sundrop Fuels, survives Kay. Granddaughter Carolyn Simmons, sophomore at University of Colorado, Boulder and grandson Chris Simmons, an engineering major at The Ohio State University also survive her.
