Thomas Leon "Tom" JONES

JONES, Thomas Leon "Tom" 74, of Clearwater, died May 26, 2014 from complications due to cancer. He was born in Jackson, MS, January 11, 1940. Tom graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor's Degree in political science from UM. LT Jones served honorably in the US Navy for 10 years, including Vietnam. In 1964 he married Janice Blankenship (died 2001). Tom got his Master's Degree in communications from UF in 1974. He had a long career in management at several TV stations. He was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, and helped starting and setting up St. Paul's TV ministry that later continued as Life-Stream Online ministry up to this day. He married Ingrid Hadley in 2003 who was at his side until his passing. Tom and Ingrid served the world community by founding 'Ingrid's Villages', a non-profit Christian Mission in the Dominican Republic that still lives on. Tom lived a life of service to his country, family, community, and faith. Tom is survived by his wife, Ingrid Hadley-Jones; son, Chris (Julie); grandsons, Gabriel and Ross; daughter, Terri Jones; stepson, Dr. Michael Hadley (Lisa); stepdaughter, Kristina Hadley; and stepgrandson, Austin Hadley. LT Jones will be interred with Military Honors at Bay Pines National Cemetery, in St. Petersburg June 12, at 10:45 am. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 14, at 2 pm at St. Paul UMC in Largo.
