WADDELL, Charles Everett age 94, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 peacefully at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, from an old Virginia family and served in WWII as a fighter pilot in the European theater. During his service in the military, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Clusters, and the Presidential Citation with three Clusters. Charlie held degrees from Vanderbilt University & Princeton University. He moved to Clearwater in 1965 with Combustion Engineering as a sales engineer and was involved in the early stages of nuclear power for electrical systems and utilities. Charlie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He is survived by Carole, his loving wife of 56 years; three children, Susan (Kevin), Mark (Kathi), & Scott; and two grandchildren, Hunter and Kerry. The family will receive friends for a visitation and gathering Saturday, March 2nd, 1-3 pm, at the Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. A brief family led service will be held in Charlie's memory at 3 pm, immediately following visitation. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home 727-796-1992

As a former Combustion Engineering employee, starting in Nuclear Sales in 1960, I always enjoyed working with Charlie. He was always a perfect gentleman. It was a pleasure knowing him.

I have very fond memories of Mr.Waddell - better know as "Susan's Dad." His kindness and friendliness will always be remembered by his neighbors. He will be greatly missed!!
