MITCHELL, Dale, 80, went to be with his Lord peacefully at home on January 28, 2013. His devoted Chihuahua Pippa was by his side. Dale was born in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was a proud graduate of Western Kentucky University. A 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force took him to Korea, England and Vietnam. He earned a master's degree in logistics from the Air Force Institute of Technology and was twice named the Air Force's outstanding Supply Officer of the year. Twice he was Chief of Supply at MacDill Air Force base where he retired as a Lt. Colonel. Dale enjoyed a second successful 30-year career as a financial advisor. In 1987 he opened his own Raymond James office in Temple Terrace. Dale served as President of the Retired Officers Assoc., President of Inter-bay and Tampa North Rotary clubs, and board member of Metropolitan Ministries. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church and distributed Bibles with Gideon's International. Dale was a talented actor and participated in college productions and Masque of Temple Terrace. Dale is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Jim; daughter, Dena Graven; daughter-in-law, Kate; son-in-law, Doug, and grandchildren, Jessica, Meghan (Matt), Trevor, Janel, Mallory and Jonas. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Family, friends and business associates will miss his sense of humor, his encouraging attitude and optimistic outlook on life. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church on Busch Blvd., Saturday, February 2 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rotary International Foundation, Gideon's International, Temple Terrace Methodist church or a .
