TOWNSEND, Dorothy Davis, 97 of Tampa and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on March 10, 2013. A native of Gary, Indiana, she attended Depauw University, and graduated from Northwestern University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Phi Beta. She did radio work, and taught school before her marriage. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis where she was a Sheperd and Past Chairman of the Bazaar. She was past President of the Fortnightly Literary Club, and a member of the Review Club, Rehm Guild, Contemporary Club, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Friends of Holiday Park, and Meridian Hills CC. She also did volunteer work at Noble School and the Alliance of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Tom, and son, Thomas III. She is survived by her daughter, Mindy Steiss (Carl); 3 grandchildren, Scott Steiss, Sheryll Stouffer (Todd), Stephanie Dudra (Greg); and 5 great- grandsons. A Memorial Service will be held at the Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting memorial donations to the Scholarship Fund at University Village, 12250 N 22nd St. Tampa, Fl 33612.
