McCORD, Jean Louise (Weinhardt) 94, a long time resident of Homosassa, FL, passed away peacefully after a short illness on April 24, 2014 in Pittsburgh, PA, with family at her side. Jean was born on May 5, 1919 in Fremont, OH to Walter and Helen Bowlus Weinhardt. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School where she met George McCord, her high school sweetheart and future husband. Jean attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, graduating in 1941 with a degree in Home Economics. Jean and George were married in 1943 in Fremont. They were married for 49 wonderful years, raising five children and living in Washington DC, Ohio, Wisconsin and Illinois before retiring to Homosassa, FL. Jean lived in Homosassa for 28 years before moving to Pittsburgh last year to be closer to family. Jean was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching sporting events of her family, following her favorite teams, and playing golf well into her 80s. She was active in the PEO service organization and enjoyed reading, playing bridge, and spending time with family. Jean was a very loving wife and mother and was very proud of each of her children and grandchildren. She was always very positive and did everything with a smile. Her love, energy, compassion, support and friendship will be missed by all. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, George; eldest son, George; brother, Walter; and son-in-law, Marcus Trier. Jean is survived by four children, David (Carol) of Pittsburgh, Martha Trier of Springfield, IL, Michael (Kathy) of Newark, DE, and Molly (John) Quinlan of Chicago, IL, and daughter-in-law, Jo Ann (George) of Hilton Head, SC. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Megan (Chris) Jones, Scott McCord, Chase McCord, Toby Trier, Kelly Trier, Max (Carly Ogata) McCord, Alec McCord, Joe Quinlan, Christopher McCord and Gregory McCord, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Beinhauer Funeral Homes, 2630 West Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. Jean will be buried alongside her husband George at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
