BERNALDO, Joe "Joe Battery", passed peacefully at home on January 5 with his wife and children by his side. He was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific. He owned and operated Deluxe Battery Company in Ybor City for 62 years. He was the last of 10 siblings from parents who immigrated from Asturias Spain. From him we learned to be proud of our heritage; about honor, integrity and honesty and the importance of family. He appreciated all musical genres but especially loved opera. His music and guitar enriched our lives and for many years he enjoyed being a member and musical accompanist for the Jolly Seniors. He is survived by his loving wife of 64½yrs. Hortensia (Cusi); son Michael (Carmen); daughters, Norma Gonzalez and Bonny Cropper (Fred); grandchildren: Monica, Jessica, Danielle, Dax, Devon and Justin; great grandchildren: C.J., Christian & Noah and many nieces and nephews. No man was more loved by his family and many friends. We will miss him very much. At Joe's request a formal service will not be held. If you wish to honor him, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project or Make-A-Wish Please offer Condolences at:
