MAYER, Louis R. 91, a loving husband, father and grandfather, was called to Heaven by the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012. He lived a long and fulfilled life. Lou had the gift of wit and enjoyed sharing his wisdom with family and friends. Lou is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ethel Kearns Mayer; daughters, Karen Mayer & Rachel Mayer Port; son, Jeff Mayer; son-in-law, Jack Wagner; 8 grandchildren. He was prede-ceased by his granddaughter, Molly Anne Wagner; son, Gregory Todd Mayer; and daughter, Renee Lynne Wagner. He was born July 4, 1921 in Ward, WV. He moved to Clearwater from Cuyahoga Falls, OH in 1972. He was a tax attorney and accountant. Lou was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in the Air Force band. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church. He enjoyed playing his trumpet with a number of Big Bands, many church groups and on overseas mission trips. Friends are being received Monday, Oct. 29 from 11:30 am until time of service at 1 pm at the Salvation Army, 1625 North Belcher Road, Clearwater. Burial will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Lou's memory to the Salvation Army or the Morton Plant Mease Foundation. www.mossfeasterclearwater.com
