ABLES, Richard Perry, 75, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away November 2, 2009. He was born in Fyffe, Ala. and attended Barry University, the University of Iowa and Hernando-Pasco Community College. Most of his career was spent working in the newspaper business as a stereotyper for color reproduction. He was also a real estate broker. Richard enjoyed hunting for wild game, gardening, and spending time with his family. Most recently he volunteered his services at the Gulfside Regional Hospice Thrift Store, in Zephyrhills. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian; and brother, Wayne. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Katherine; son, Aaron; daughter, Beth; grandson, Christopher; granddaughter, Sydney; and several relatives in northeast Alabama. Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 36327 Hwy 54 in Zephyrhills. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Hospice House at the Edwinola, 14235 Edwinola Way, Dade City, Fla.
