ELGOOD, William Age 90, of Albuquerque, NM, previously of Dunedin, passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. Bill was born on Oct. 26, 1922 in Richmond, Quebec to Felix & Leslie Ross Elgood. He grew up in Island Pond, VT, where he graduated from Brighton High School in 1939. After three years of service in the U.S. Maritime in WWII, he attended the University of Vermont, where he received a B.A. in 1950. He then moved to Ann Arbor, MI, where he met and married Ann Drew. Bill earned his MA degrees in Speech and Library Sciences from the University of Michigan. He taught and coached debate at University of Michigan and General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) from 1952 to 1958. From 1958 to 1979, he was a Director of GMI's Library. In 1979, Bill retired and moved to Clearwater. In April 1988 in Crystal Beach, he married Sylvia K. "Kathy" Barringer. Bill is survived by three children and three stepchildren: Ross Elgood of Victoria, TX, Leslie Elgood of Albuquerque, NM, Stevin Barringer of Crystal Beach, FL, Barbara Grandchamp & her husband, Dave of Glastonbury, CT, and Lisa Tullius & her husband, Jim of Crystal Beach, FL; and seven grandchildren, Laura Elgood, Alex, Douglas & Lauren Grandchamp, and James & Rachel Tullius.
