FAIRLEY, William M. "Bill" 68, of Valrico, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was raised in New Sewickley Township, PA. He was born Nov. 1, 1945 in Sewickley, a son of the late James M. "Pop" Fairley and Betty J. Sheville Fairley. On April 10, 1970, he married the former Julia Cleary of Tipperary, Ireland. He was a 1964 graduate of Freedom Area High School. He graduated from Jacksonville Vocation Technical College with an emphasis in Data Processing. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1966 and served until his retirement in 1986 as a Chief Petty Officer. He then worked for the U.S. Department of Labor until his passing. He was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and has been on the waiting list for season tickets since 1994, but he has enjoyed 6 Steeler World Championships in his lifetime. Surviving are his wife, Julia Cleary Fairley of Valrico; one daughter, Tammray Jo Fairley Brewington and son-in-law, Kevin Brewington of Rhoadesville, VA; one son, William Michael Fairley and daughter-in-law, Jayne Fairley; and one granddaughter, Kathleen Fairley, all of Valrico; one brother, James Fairley and his wife, Karen Fairley of Deer Park, TX. A sister, Alice "Snooks" Herr preceded him in death in 1994. Services with full military honors will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg, on June 23, at 10 am. Flowers will be received at the family residence.
