KNUTSSON, George Albin 71, passed away on July 1, 2009 at his residence in Indian Shores. He was the devoted husband to Maggie, loving father to Keith and Kurt; and brother to Karlene Duke. You would always know if George Knutsson entered the room because his charisma and fun loving personality would touch you and every person inside. An eternal optimist, he could make anything possible. Everybody near enough knew it. A Tampa Bay business leader, George Knutsson served as a Director of Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. since June 2001. Mr. Knutsson is President and Chairman of Knutsson Realty, Inc., specializing in commercial and investment properties in the Tampa Bay area. From 1995 to 2005, he owned and served as President and Chairman of American Boat Trailer Rental Company, Inc., a provider of boat trailer rentals in the southeastern United States. In 1995 to 1999, he was Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Pro-Tech Monitoring, which uses patented GPS/cellular technology for monitoring and tracking. In 1978, he founded Dollar Rent-A-Car of Florida and served as Chief Executive Officer until 1990, when he sold the company to the Chrysler Corporation. Mr. Knutsson received his B.S. degree from the University of Florida and an MBA degree from the University of South Florida and more recently continued studies at the Harvard Business School. Funeral services, interment and reception scheduled for Monday, 6 July, 11 in the morning, Seminole Heights United Methodist Church 6111 North Central Ave. Tampa, Florida 33604
