ROBINSON, Harold C.

of Seminole, FL, formerly of Zionsville, IN; Connersville, IN and Hernando, FL, died July 26, 2018. Born July 29, 1925, he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley; daughter, Melissa Nelson (Greg Slipher) and son, Lyle Robinson; grandchildren: Lorne (Helen), Rob, Mark (Brittany), Keith (Heidi), Sonja (Zac) and great-grandchildren, Ava and Joel. Harold grew up in Zionsville, IN. He was the manager of the Fayette County Co-op from 1966 to 1990. He served on numerous boards including Fayette County Free Fair, Chamber of Commerce, Fayette Memorial Hospital, Indiana Feed and Grain Dealers. He was a member of Grand Avenue Methodist Church, Connersville and Pasadena Methodist Church in Florida.He volunteered hundreds of hours for Lions Club, collecting and preparing donated eyeglasses. He and Shirley served on Lions Club eyeglass missions to Guatemala, Panama, Tanzania and Romania. At the age of 62, he took up bicycling. He and Shirley rode a tandem bicycle locally and throughout the U.S. With Shirley as stoker, Harold rode 75 miles on the day of his 75th birthday and 90 miles during the month of his 90th birthday. A graveside service will take place 11 am, October 5, 2018 at at Zionsville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Freewheelin Community Bikes, 3355 N. Central Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46205.
