WALMSLEY, John T.

84, of Plant City, Florida, born December 4, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ September 1, 2018. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a longtime sales manager in the steel industry, and a real estate agent. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where he was a trustee and Sunday School teacher, former Sunday School director, a former member of the City of Plant City Code Enforcement Board, and a former football and baseball coach for the Plant City Little Leagues. He loved his family and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and the North Carolina mountains. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie L. Walmsley; children, John Carl Walmsley (Anne) of North Carolina and Susan Collins (Scott) of Plant City; grandchildren, Jeffrey Chad Walmsley (Audrey), Christopher Joseph Walmsley (Heather), Chad Eric Blanton (Christina), Heather Marie Rivera (Jonathan), and Craig Thomas Walmsley (Brandy Wyly); great-grandchildren, Will, Bryce, Hayden, Wyatt, Bella, Eli, Easton, and Samuel; sister, Wanda Eibel; former wife, Mary Alice Steinke; mother-in-law, Edith Howard; siblings-in-law, Mike Howard (Jeannie), Norma Kennedy (Jim), and Joey Howard (Barbara); nieces and nephews, Justin Howard (Niki), Lindsey Norrington (Jason), Sarah Athans (Kevin), and Megan Dobiesz (Aaron); great-nieces and great-nephews, Taylor, Tristen, Grace, Ryder, and Eli; extended family, Karen Davis (Elliot), Kayla Davis, Cameron Davis, Elaine Walmsley, Nita Walmsley, Beck Easton (Lindsey), Lexi Easton, Marsha Howard, Alison Sylvester, Aunt Janet, and Aunt Dorothy; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his children, Jeffrey "Jeff" Walmsley and Mary Ann Walmsley; and parents, John and Dorothy Walmsley. A funeral service will be held 7 pm, Thursday, September 6 at at Eastside Baptist Church, 1318 E Calhoun Street, Plant City 33563, where the family will receive friends beginning at 6 pm. Private interment with military honors at Florida National Cemetery, Busnell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eastside Baptist Church Family Life Center.
