GILLON, Joseph P.

94, of Tampa, passed away April 27, 2018. He is survived by son, Joseph H. Gillon (Leah), and daughters, Janet Whitney (David) and Jeanne Bowers (Stanley). He had four grandchildren, Justin Bowers, Brian and Kevin Whitney, and Miriam Gillon, as well as four great-grandsons. After retiring from Christ the King and St. Patrick's, he was known in his neighborhood for fixing whatever needed fixing, especially lawn mowers. He was generally known as "a good guy", who supported veterans, and loved football, gardening, recycling and sharing a beer with whoever stopped by. When he moved to Brookdale Bayshore, he became known for entertaining everyone with his collection of oldies music. The family will scatter his ashes in a private ceremony.
