Marvis E. Cox


COX, Marvis E. 86, of Tampa, passed away on Feb. 26, 2012. Mrs. Cox ("Mike" to her closest friends) was born in Hampton, NH on Sept. 12, 1925. In the many chapters of her life, she has been a Navy Lieutenant, a registered nurse, a wife, a mother of three boys, a grandmother, a helper of those in need and a friend to a great many. She is survived by her sons, John M. Cox of Shelton, WA and Gregory B. Cox of Tampa. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Laura (Gigi) Cox, Dana Cox and Tina Armond, grandson, Markham Acosta; granddaughter, Alexandra Acosta; grandson, Gregory Cox, Jr. and granddaughter, Stephanie Co ; She was predeceased by her husband, John T. Cox of Jefferson City and son, Stephen J. Cox of Peachtree City, GA. We extend many thanks to the nurses and staff at Aston Gardens and those of Hospice for your help and care. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday evening, Feb. 29, at 6:30 pm at the Chapel of JGR Funeral Home, 6718 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa.
