Norma McGehee Obituary

McGEHEE, Norma Louise Galbreath 83, of Dunedin, beloved wife of Ralph Walter McGehee Jr., peacefully passed away on Feb. 1, 2012. Born in Pierceton, IN on Sept. 4, 1928, to Evangeline and Cecil Galbreath, she was the youngest of three sisters. On Dec. 22, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart, Ralph McGehee, a player on Notre Dame's national champion football team, who joined the Central Intelligence Agency after graduating. Together, they raised four children while serving in Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand. In 2000, the couple moved to Dunedin. Norma is survived by her husband Ralph; her sister, Shirley Brunell; children Peggy McGehee Horton of Maine, Jean Ann Marteski of Florida, Scott Michael McGehee of Hawaii and Keenan Dakota of Virginia; sons-in-law Mark Horton and Joe Marteski; daughters-in-law Lisa Carle and Kristen Dakota; 10 grandchildren, Rachel Horton White, Joanna, Laura and Jack Horton, of Maine, Jeff and Steve Marteski of Florida, Madeline and Michael McGehee of Hawaii and Arlo and Rowan Dakota of Virginia and one great-grandson, Arran White. Norma was selfless and utterly devoted to her husband and her family. Her faith and confidence in them helped inspire them to have faith and confidence in themselves. She is deeply missed.
