BASS, Robert Donald

"Don" 93, joined his beloved wife, Gene, in the arms of his Savior on June 6, 2018. A Florida native, Don served his country as a Radioman 3rd Class in the U.S. Coast Guard during W.W.II. Don was employed as an agent for Independent Insurance Company for over 24 years and served as both elder and deacon of his church, Forest Hills Presbyterian. He was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge # 265, the Scottish Rite and Egypt Temple Shrine. Don filled his retirement by volunteering for -Tampa Unit for over 32 years and will be remembered as a beloved tour guide and champion for that hospital. He leaves behind a legacy of two children, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren and will be remembered for his warm smile, kind manner, and deep love for others. Visitation will begin at 10 am with funeral services at 11 am on Saturday, June 16 at the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, 709 W. Linebaugh Ave., Tampa, FL 33612, with a reception to follow. The family requests donations be made to -Tampa Unit, in lieu of flowers.
