Ronald Polk


POLK, Ronald Jesse, 60, of Plant City, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Plant City. He was born April 9, 1947, in Plant City, Fla., to James and Adell (Mattair) Polk and was a lifelong resident of Plant City. Ronald was a mill wright in the construction industry and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Mill Wright and Carpenters Local 1000, the American Legion of Plant City and of the Church of Christ faith. He is survived by his wife, Susan Polk of Plant City; a son, Duane Polk of Live Oak, Fla.; three daughters, Lynette Messengill of Tennessee, Sharon Colston of Tampa and Rachael Harney of Live Oak, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy Polk, Larry Polk and Andy Polk, all of Plant City; and four sisters, Christine Alvarez of Tampa, Lois Murrow of Plant City, Wanda Romano of Brandon, Fla., and Linda Goterba of Georgia. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at Whitfield Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger McClellan officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors provided by Zephyrhills Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8154.
