William Perry "Bill" CARLTON


CARLTON, William Perry "Bill" 91, died Oct. 23, 2013. He was born in Hobart, OK. Bill enlisted in the US Navy in Jan. 1941 and spent 6½ years in that service, where he was a crew member on the USS Nevada at Pearl Harbor during the December 7, 1941 attack. Bill was employed by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, now known as the FAA, moving up the ranks to become a facility chief. He subsequently moved to the Washington DC headquarters, later transferring to the Denver, CO regional office, retiring in 1975. Bill later worked for H&R Block in Tampa from 1981 until 1989, becoming operations supervisor for the Tampa district until retiring. His passions were golf, painting, hockey, and baseball. Most of all, Bill loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Rosarie; daughters Johanna Carlton (fiance' Jaimes Fredlund), Judy Berges (Fred); sons Barry Carlton (Juany) and Bruce. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan Harrold. Bill is survived also by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved and cherished. Perry will be missed by many and was admired, enjoyed, respected by all those he touched. A funeral service will take place 11 am Friday, Nov. 1 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
