MIRO, Julio F., 83, born Sept 6, 1930 in Havana, Cuba, died January 31, 2014 in Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Juana Maria Miro and his wife Hortensia Blasco Miro. He is survived by his daughter Hortensia Rodriguez (Luis); grandson Luis Michael Rodriguez and brother Francisco Miro (Maria). Julio was a long-time resident of Tampa and was a retired accountant. He was a founding member of the Cuban Civic Club and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 7201. Julio volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital as a Eucharistic minister for 8 years and also served the St. Lawrence Parish. He was also a member of the Cursillos de Cristiandad and Movimiento Familiar Cristiano. Pallbearers will include Luis Rodriguez, Luis Michael Rodriguez, Sergio Blasco, Hector Blasco, Francisco Miro, and Dr. Fernando Perez. Honorary pallbearers will include Rev. Jose Gonzalez, Dr. Felipe Pacheco, Henry and Esperanza Garcia, Hortensia Corsa, Maria Antonia Martinez and Isidro Suarez. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 11AM on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 12noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
