LUNDQUIST, Steven Carl 56, of St. Petersburg, passed away Feb. 28, 2014. He was a personable and likeable man of integrity, embraced by all who met him. He was born in Chicago, IL, Sept. 6, 1957, of parents Janet and Hans Lundquist. He was a graduate of Lane Tech High School in Chicago. He received his BA in Theater at Loyola University of Chicago, and spent a semester abroad at Loyola's John Felice Rome Center in Italy, one of his fondest memories. He met Sherri Carper in 1982 and they married Aug. 30, 1986. Steven grew up in Chicago and was an accomplished theater actor as a young man, performing in dozens of plays and musicals in the 70's and 80's. Two of his favorite performances were "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" and "Guys and Dolls." He and Sherri moved to St. Petersburg in 1987, where for over twenty years he worked as a food and beverage manager at several different Tampa Bay area restaurants, country clubs, and event halls. His most recent position was at Tara Golf and Country Club in Bradenton, but he also worked at Ruth Eckerd Hall, The Club at Treasure Island, the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, and St. Petersburg Country Club. He truly loved serving people and made sure they were comfortable, happy, and always well-fed. He was an avid reader and loved reading books and stories, especially fantasy novels, aloud to his children. Steven was preceded in death by his beloved sister Sandy. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sherri; three children, Quinn, Madeline, and Mallory; three sisters, Susan, Cindy, and Alice; parents, Janet and Hans; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. To celebrate his life, a memorial will be held at 6:30 pm Tuesday, March 4, at Faith Fellowship of St. Petersburg, 6646 1st Ave S, St Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, Steven's family would appreciate contributions to help support his daughter's education. Arrangements by David C. Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg.
