GIOVINAZZO, Joseph Anthony Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in St. Petersburg, on Feb. 26, 2014. He was born on Dec. 30, 1928 in Osceola Mills, PA, to the late Domenico and Rosalia (nee Bertino) Giovinazzo. Joseph was a Korea War Veteran, serving as a high speed intercept operator for the ERC Signal Corps. in the U.S. Army. He retired from Prudential Investments in New York and settled in St. Petersburg. He was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. He is survived by four sons, Domenick of Nanuet, NY, Joseph Jr. (Maryellen) of Beacon, NY, Robert of Chester, NY, and James of Orlando, FL; his three grandchildren, Nicole, Joseph III, & Jessica; sister, Isabelle (Michael) Mayo of St. Petersburg; several nieces and nephews; and long time love, Josephine Tolve of Norwood, NJ. Joseph is predeceased by brothers, Michael and Fred; sisters, Angela Rose, Carmela, and Mary. A Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 10 am, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 200 78th Ave. NE, St. Petersburg, FL, 33702. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760. Arrangements entrusted to National Cremation Society, 727-536-0494.
