SHATRAW, Whalen D., 87, of Lutz passed away on Sat., April 5, 2014. He was born in East Poesten-kill, NY and moved to Florida in 1973. Whalen served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1951 with a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and enjoyed attending mass with Father Tim from St. Mary Catholic Church. Whalen is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia and granddaughter, Michelle. He is survived by his son, John (Kim); daughter, Yvonne White (Robbie); sisters, Florence Amsler and Vaughn Skarzynski; and great-grandchildren, Alyce and Jackson. A celebration of life will take place at Loyless Funeral Home on Wed., April 9th at 4:30 pm. Final Resting Place will be at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Lifepath Hospice.
