RAFUSE JR., Ralph R. , 48, of Dade City, passed away May 5, 2014, at Florida Hospital Connerton. He was born July 31, 1965 in Ft. Walton Beach, FL to Ralph R. & Mildred Jeanette "Jan" Rafuse and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Pasco Comprehensive High School in 1983. After High School he attended George C. Wallace Community College in AL where he received his AS degree. He then went to University of Alabama prior to transferring to Saint Leo University where he received his BS degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. While at St. Leo he pledged to Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and remained active with the Fraternity until his death. During his career he worked with many fast food restaurants. He assisted in the opening of Kafe Kokopelli in Dade City and managed it for five years before leaving and going to work for Ted and Avis Phillips at the 4G Ranch as their chef and bartender. He later worked for Bob and Sharon Blanchard at the Steeple Chase. He managed the Checkers Restaurant in Dade City before his health forced his retirement. He is survived by his Sister: Karetha Rafuse, Zephyrhills, FL; Nephew: Caleb Rafuse, Zephyrhills, FL; Aunt: Madge Grantham, Enterprise, AL; and numerous cousins, Fraternity Brothers and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph & Jan Rafuse; and his sister: Wanda Rafuse. Funeral services will be held 10am Thursday May 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Dade City. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends for viewing from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City.
