LICATA, Lucy "Miss Lucy", 89, of Tampa, FL passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving daughter Nica, her devoted caregiver Margot, and many of her loving family and friends. Miss Lucy was born on August 23, 1924 in Tampa, FL to John and Angelina (Nana) Caruso and resided here her whole life. On April 20, 1947, Miss Lucy married the love of her life George Licata and started her family which included her two children Nica Lucie Licata and Victor George Licata. Miss Lucy, as she was affectionately known, with George owned and operated the original Seabreeze Restaurant (which was founded by her father-in-law Victor Licata in 1929) until their retirement in 1992. Miss Lucy never met a stranger and treated everyone of all walks of life from employees to governors with love and respect and in return she received the same. Miss Lucy was preceded in death by her beloved son Victor, husband George, and mother and father John and Angelina Caruso. She is survived by her loving daughter Nica, Godson Perry Gagliano, Goddaughter Sandy Joiner, brother Vito Caruso (Ana), nieces Carmen Caruso and Francine Rodriguez and her special sister-in-law Mickey Licata. Pallbearers include: Larry Guerra, Charlie and Dusty Woodham, Mandy Hernandez, Perry Gagliano and Ronald Rosas. Honorary pallbearers include: George Miranda, Bobby Comparetto, James Gray and Frankie Licata. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to LifePath Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon to 2 PM at the funeral home chapel. Nica would like to express her sincere thanks to Elsa, Dayana, Estelle, Charita, the Ruby team of LifePath Hospice, Dr. Peter Leger and Dr. William Wiley for their compassion, kindness and loving care they gave Miss Lucy.
