George Albert DEITLE

The Guest Book is expired.

DEITLE, George Albert age 99, died July 15, 2014, after a long and fulfilling life. Born in Ohio to the late George and Clara Deitle Sr., Al as he was called, was a trumpet player with his own band in his early life. While serving in Africa during WWII, he was injured and had a prolonged recovery. He later married Mabel Deitle and among many things they did together, they owned Al Deitle Buick Pontiac in Garrettsville, OH. They lived in Dunedin since 1969, where he enjoyed golfing as a long term member of the Dunedin Country Club, traveling, playing the organ, square dancing, and an occasional visit to the Hard Rock. He was a member of the Shriners Lodge and a 32nd degree Mason. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mabel Deitle in 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Whitney; his grandchildren, Denise Franek and her husband Chuck, Donald Whitney and his wife Roseann, and Kenneth Whitney; his great-grandchildren, Larrisa, Joshua, Alex, and Elliot; and great-great-grandchild, Aiden. Always ready with a joke or two, he loved to laugh and enjoyed a good story. He centered much of his life on his family, and was happy to help whenever a need arose. He is dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Family services will be held at Curlew Hills. Graveside service is on Friday, July 18, at 10 am.
