GLADWIN, William Robert of Tarpon Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Bill was born on July 16, 1934 to Douglas Gladwin and Mary Lysaght of the Bath English Sea Faring Family. He married his Hopkins, MN, classmate and neighbor Helen, from a family of Norwegian fishermen and Black Irish. Bill was always faithful to his Hopkins High School and Trinity College (Connecticut) classmates. Bill served in the Air Force SAC refueling service as a navigator along with his life-long friend, Air Craft Commander, Duane Hedahl. Bill had many cruising mentors including C. Brittain, S. Siegel, G. Sutton. He enjoyed his travel adventures with his good friends Jamie and Dan Longley of Ozona, FL. Bill loved all of his pets with boundless enthusiasm and included them on his sailing voyages. Bill's journey came to an end after a five year struggle with multiple myeloma.
