STEWART, Gertrude A "Trudy" (nee Parascandola) 86, of Jacksonville and formerly of Clearwater, died July 29, 2014 at her home in Jacksonville. She was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and later became a resident of Staten Island. Trudy lived in Clearwater for 34 years. She was a volunteer at the Religious Community Services Food Band, a member of the development advisory committee for Largo Central Park and an active band booster for the Largo High School Band of Gold. Trudy was dedicated to her faith, her family and our country. She proudly served in the US Navy (1950-1954), including 15 months at Naval Air Station Barbers Point Hawaii, and NAS JAX where she met her beloved husband Ken. She earned the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. She was an adventurer, an avid traveler, and devoted baseball fan. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Ken Stewart; and parents, Angelo and Marie Parascandola. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Anderson (Tom), Lisa Collins (Dick), and Laurie McFee (Leo); sister, Marie Talmage (Joe); grandsons, Marc Anderson, Greg Anderson, Stewart Collins, Scott Collins, Leo McFee IV, and Logan McFee; granddaughter, Landon Rose McFee; nephews, Joseph, Greg, and Chris Talmage; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Aug. 4, at 11 am in St Patrick Catholic Church 1507 Trotter Rd in Largo. Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, Largo. Visitation hours are planned for Sunday, Aug 3, from 4-6 pm at Serenity Funeral Home 13401 Indian Rocks Rd in Largo. In lieu of flowers, kiindely send donations in Trudy's memory to the RCS Food Band, 503 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Clearwater, 33756. Please write on memo line of check: "Food Bank-Trudy Stewart".
