McANINCH, Sloyd 55, of Gulfport, died Sunday, Jan. 11, of cancer. Originally from Jupiter, FL, Sloyd was a woodcarver, musician, and yacht captain, known for his depth of knowledge on almost any subject. Sloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his partner, Bob DeBoer. He is survived by his partner of 7 years, Alan Weyant, and by his siblings Mary Tyler, John McAninch, Nancy Bruno, Helen Light and Robert McAninch; also 4 nieces and two nephews. Donations may be sent to Metropolitan Charities of Saint Petersburg.
