BYRNES, Norman T. of Clearwater, formerly of Boston, MA, died Thursday, July, 9, 2009. He was a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He practiced law in Boston for 53 years before retiring in 2001. During World War II he served as a combat infantryman in France, Germany and Austria with Company L., 324th Infantry Regiment, 44th Division, earning a Battlefield Commission, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman's Badge and other awards. A serious duplicate bridge player, he was active in bridge administration in New England for many years. He was President of the OTOW Bridge Club at On Top of the World in Clearwater. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Tom of Denver, CO, Tim, of Anchorage, AK, Doug of Acton, MA; two stepchildren, Tim Norris of Jacksonville and Mary Hemans of Roswell, GA; 5 grandchildren; one great-grandson; 3 siblings, Frances Morcelle of Buffalo, NY, Elizabeth Eppich of Sun City Center, Bill Byrnes of Poland, NY, and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
