Ann Kiernan Obituary

KIERNAN, Ann Isabel, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 91, on Saturday, July 9, 2011. She was born November 17, 1919. A University of Cincinnati graduate, Ann was employed by TWA as an International Flight Attendant and traveled the world until marrying and starting a family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger, to whom she was married for 47 years. While raising her children, she became a travel agent and worked until her retirement at the age of 73. She was a sharp wit, superb chef, source of knowledge and of comfort, and a wonderful mother. Her family will always cherish and miss her intelligence, strength and love. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Kiernan Duncan; her son, William Dawson Kiernan; her son-in-law, Hill Abrahams; her grandson, William Jackson Duncan; and her grandchildren, Selah, Delilah and Felix Kiernan. The family very much appreciates the kindness, care and support from the staff of The Suncoast Hospice.

I worked at Keppie Travel downtown in the 70's-80's for 10 years while Ann was in Dunedin. My sympathies to the family. She was quite a gal, and am glad to see she lived a long life with a long retirement.
