DAY, Barbara Pearle Carter age 76, of Clearwater, died at home on Aug. 18, 2013. A military daughter and wife through the 1960s, Barbara witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor and experienced the Philippines, pre-Communist China, occupied Japan, and France. Graduating in the first class of the University of Florida School of Nursing, she cared for those with mental illness and drug and alcohol problems. She and her late husband, Bob Day also rescued many animals. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Rinaman Marsch, Linda Rinaman, Will Rinaman, and Corey Day Plander; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at sea. Contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to your local Humane Society or ASPCA.
