My Name is Frederic Perry Jr. My brother is Howard Perry. Our Father was Dr. Frederic H Perry of Washington DC. Our Grandmother was Blanche Gilbert who married John Perry. My brother and I are family. I lived with Uncle Luke and Aunt Evelyn for a summer. Uncle Zack use to come to DC along with Aunt Farris and Aunt Ruth. Our Great grandmother was Annie Gilbert and Angela visited my mother in DC. . I met my cousin Lorraine Gilbert in NY, but never met Betty Gilbert Bassett. I met Garland Gilbert in DC. God Bless you my family. Its a shame we all have not met each other. Semper Fi ( Always Faithful)

Dear Angela.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time. It is so disheartening to lose a parent. I lost my Dad over 15 years ago and I still miss him and think of him nearly every day.
You and I went to school together at Azalea Junior High in the 70's and you came home with me one day after school. Your career and life have been an inspiration to me and surely are a reflection of your life with your mother. God bless you and your family.

In 1995 or 1996, I attended an event in St.Peterburg, Fl, at a community function where you read a Langston Hughes poem. It was a crowded event;however, I was seated near your family which sat in chairs lined in rows behind me.
However, what I most remember seeing.. was the 'proud of you,' smile on your beloved mother's face, as you, Ms. Angela, was on stage reading a Langston Hughes poem (I think this was the author.)
May your beloved mother's memory live forever in your hearts; she'll never be forgotten..

She and I extended pleasantries and shared a picture together. I came upon that picture on last week and reminisced about that day. Though she was the mother of a famous actress, she always greeted you with a smile, was pleasant and "down to earth."

Suffer no more. Ms. Bassett is present with The Almighty and whole.
She loved her girls and those grands babies. The times we would make it to St. Pete and could visit, we enjoyed our visits and her quick witt.
We'll always remember the good time we had that Thanksgiving eating chicken fingers and zucchini and banana nut bread. We'll Ms. Bassett, but we know we'll see her again on the other side.
