Ivan NEAL Obituary

NEAL, Ivan

75, of Tampa, passed away, Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Ivan was born May 25, 1941, in Klamath Falls, OR to Ivan O. and Roberta (Greenwood) Neal. Ivan served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1963. On Sept. 7, 1963 he married the love of his life and best friend, Alice Rowan in Nashville, TN. Ivan was employed as a Manager with Bell South Corporation for his entire career and upon relocating to Tampa and choosing not to retire he was employed as an instructor with Ramsey Enterprises, a firm that contracts with AT&T and Directv. Ivan's love for teaching others by example was woven into everything he did as a father, grandfather, brother, coach, employee, and mentor. He cherished family above everything else in life and took immense pride in his grandchildren most of all. Ivan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice; sons, Joe Neal (Jenni) and John Neal (Bonnie) of Tampa; four grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, Caitlin, and Abby Neal of Tampa; his sisters, Coleen Courtright, Jane Seins (Ray); his brothers, Joe Neal (Frankie), Jim Neal (Donna), and John Neal (Vickie), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Roberta. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center. Those wishing to sign Ivan's guestbook may do so at www.dignitymemorial.com/blount-curry-macdill-chap. Ivan loved to travel with Alice, especially to Ireland, where Alice's family embraced him as one of their own. Ivan lived by love and by example.

We have fond memories of Ivan's regular trips to Ireland and his hospitality during our trips to Florida. He had a wonderful personality and a great sense of humour. He was always interesting to talk to and had time for anyone who knew him, young or old. Above all he was a true family man. We were deeply saddened to hear of his unexpected passing. Our sincere sympathy to Aley, Joe and Jenni, John and Bonnie, Patrick and Erin, Caitlin and Abby, and also to his siblings. We will miss you Ivan, rest in peace.
