James F. Carr

James F. Carr, age 91, In Brockton, August 20, 2018, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness at the Brockton Veterans Hospital. James is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary P. (Brady) Carr of Raynham. He was born in Pittsburg, PA., the son of the late John & Anne (Lavin) Carr. James had been a resident of Raynham for 59 years. He was educated in Pittsburg, PA schools. James served his country while in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. He was employed at the Raytheon Company in North Dighton until his retirement. James was a former Little League umpire, he was a softball coach for the Mikes Greyhound Mens Softball Team, St. Anns Eucharistic Minister and C.C.D. Teacher. James also volunteered at Paul Dever State School, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildrens sporting events. In addition to his wife, James leaves his loving children, Brian P. Carr and his wife Deborah of Taunton, David V. Carr and his wife Jill of North Dighton, Anne M. Andrews and her husband Barry of Taunton, Maureen A. Norberto of Taunton and Theresa A. Mullen and her husband Sean of Taunton. He is survived by his nine grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Brandon, Michael, Kailee, Marissa, Jake, Jenna and Jeffrey and five great grandchildren, Titan, Mason, Jackson, Abbie and Colton. James also leaves his siblings, Eleanor Vith of PA, Vincent Carr of NY and the late John Carr of RI, Reverend Bernard Carr of PA and Walter Carr of OH. Funeral from the OKeefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, August 25th at 8:45am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anns Church in Raynham at 10am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Friday from 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
