ERIKSSON, William Henix, 83, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Florida, following a short illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley; daughter, Jill of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sons, Mark (Sharon) of Syracuse, N.Y. and Steve, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; niece Vivian (Dick) Forsyth; grandchildren, Melissa, Marcus and Laura; and one great-grandchild, Anna; along with other nieces and nephews. Bill and Shirley spent summers in Syracuse, N.Y. and have wintered 30 years in Sebring, Florida. He was a carpenter and contractor all his life and loved nothing more than building and fixing things for friends and family. His grandchildren always said that Grandpa could fix anything, even broken hearts. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #12 in Syracuse, along with serving on the South Onondaga Volunteer Fire Department. Bill was a member of the Onondaga Central School Board, serving in a number of roles for over 20 years. He enjoyed his years with his friends in the Pot Luck Nomads Camping Club. He was also an avid fisherman and attended many dirt track stock car races. As a member of the Spring Lake United Methodist Church in Sebring, Fla., Bill worked on many projects in and around the church. He also attended Amber Congregational Church in Amber, N.Y. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Spring Lake Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m..
