We will miss a great native musician one of Tampa's own. An Ybor City boy who hit the big time but never forgot the small things like devil crabs. I was proud to know and work with him. Rest in peace my friend. The whole world will be singing la la la la la la la.

I hope Joe and my mom are having a party some where ...she absolutely loved Joe , as did we all . He was one of the funniest people ever ; and one of the sweetest. He was one of my brothers , and had that rare ability of turning a crisis into a comedy.

Only met you a few times, I know that our mothers work together for many years, when Tampa had some retail stores downtown. Your devotion to your mother was more than admiral. God has already blessed you for this kindness. You are in her presence.

May you be welcomed through the gates my friend.....

As a true thrasher I appreciated Joe's talent, but I most admired him for taking care of his mother, which shows such character. Also, for having long-winded conversations with my boy about his acting/singing, which has greatly inspired my boy. Thanks Joe for your legend left in all of us. You were a good neighbor and man. You are loved by all who knew you. Hope this message reaches you in heaven, but not while you are jamming with our Father. God bless you always.

Didn't know the man, but knew his music well, especially, "It Doesn't Matter"! His percussion made the song and has been in my head since I first heard it! RIP, you will be missed!

Joe, you will always be remembered. When you were at Jefferson High School, you would come to my home just about every night with Larry Priede and of course bring your drum sticks. You would use the porch railing, chairs or anything you could bang your drum sticks on.
May peace be with you Joe.

I was a musician in S. FL back in the late '60s and early '70s when Joe was with Blues Image. I got to see him perform many, many times with them. I never knew him personally but was friend s with his BI bandmate, Mike Pinera. Joe never ceased to amaze and inspire me with his incredible talent and beautiful spirit. I still find it hard to believe he has left us. RIP, Joe, your music, your personality and your goodness will always dwell in our hearts.
